La importancia del sistema de recompensa en la participación ciudadana online

Introducción: el presente artículo realiza una revisión integradora sobre el papel del Sistema de Recompensa en la participación ciudadana en entornos digitales, sustentada en 73 fuentes publicadas entre 1990 y 2024. Sobre un marco teórico multidisciplinar se formula una Teoría del Cambio que articula la secuencia recompensas → motivación → participación → representatividad → trazabilidad. Metodología: la metodología combinó una búsqueda sistemática, la construcción de una matriz analítica y la codificación inductiva de evidencias conceptuales y empíricas. Resultados: los resultados muestran que las recompensas simbólicas, sorpresivas y no controladoras aumentan la motivación intrínseca y la participación activa. Cuando estos incentivos se implementan junto con mecanismos de retroalimentación estructurada y trazabilidad, contribuyen además a elevar la calidad de las aportaciones ciudadanas. Discusión: se extraen implicaciones prácticas para el diseño de plataformas participativas: priorizar recompensas coherentes con autonomía, competencia y relación; acompañar las estrategias de incentivos con programas de alfabetización digital y medidas de inclusión; y establecer métricas estandarizadas (KPIs) y evaluaciones éticas. Conclusiones: la investigación aporta un marco conceptual operativo para investigadores y responsables públicos interesados en fomentar una participación más inclusiva y de mayor calidad.
