Vivat Academia welcomes proposals for thematic collections that encourage dialogue across disciplines and examine communication from interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary perspectives. Each proposal must clearly define its topic, objectives and contribution to knowledge, and align with the journal’s Aims and Scope.

Requirements for Guest Editors

Each thematic collection may have up to three guest editors with expertise in the proposed topic. Collectively, they must be affiliated with at least two different academic or research institutions, at least one of which must be international.

Responsibilities of Guest Editors

Guest editors are responsible for:

1. Defining the topic, objectives and scope of the call for papers.
2. Drafting the call for papers in Spanish and English using the template provided by the journal, without exceeding two pages in either version.
3. Identifying specialists in the field and inviting them to submit manuscripts, while ensuring that the call remains open and that all submissions undergo the journal’s standard editorial assessment and peer review.
4. Assisting the Editorial Board with the initial assessment of whether submissions fit the collection’s theme.
5. Suggesting specialists who may be invited to review manuscripts.
6. Identifying research communities that may be interested in the call and helping to promote it.

Suggestions of potential authors or reviewers do not guarantee their participation. The journal is responsible for managing submissions and making editorial decisions. Articles in thematic collections undergo the same Peer Review Policy and Editorial Process as other contributions of the same type.

Submission and Evaluation of Proposals

Researchers interested in guest editing a thematic collection should email editor@vivatacademia.net to request the proposal template. The editor will provide the template in response. Once completed, the proposal should be sent to the same email address.

The Editorial Board will assess each proposal’s quality, relevance, timeliness and alignment with the journal’s aims and scope, and will communicate its decision by email.
