Abstract

A group of young Spanish scientists have asked me to write a short introduction to their manuscript on their perspective of the future of the Science and Technology in Spain. It is good to hear the opinion of all kind of people on such a relevant issue as the future of Science and Technology in a developed country. But it is even more important to hear the opinion of the people that will shape themselves the future of Science and Technology, like these Spanish young Scientists and Engineers.

I am glad to share completely their conviction that sustained Public support of Science and Technology is crucial in the economic expansion, health and environmental protection of a country. It has accounted for half of U.S. economic growth over the past 50 years.

I hope that the content of this manuscript, entirely written by the students, will be helpful to communicate to the Spanish Government what the new Spanish Scientists think about the future of Science and Technology in their country; their opinion deserves special attention.
