Vivat Academia is a diamond open access journal. All published content is made immediately and freely available, with no embargo periods and without requiring subscription, payment, or registration for access.

The journal develops its open access policy in accordance with international open access principles and, in particular, those set out in the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities.

Publication Licences

Access to, use, and reuse of published content are governed by the Creative Commons licence applicable to each publication. The relevant licence is identified in each individual article.

Vivat Academia applies the following licensing policy according to the corresponding publication period:

• Content corresponding to 2027 and subsequent publication years: Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).

• Content corresponding to the 2023–2026 period: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).

• Content published up to and including 2022: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0).

The use, reproduction, distribution, or adaptation of published content must comply with the terms of the licence applicable to each publication and must, in all cases, provide appropriate attribution to the authors and to the original publication.

The conditions governing copyright ownership are set out in the journal’s Copyright Notice, while the conditions governing the deposit of published works are described in the Archiving and Self-Archiving Policy.
